How does the mediation process work?
In preparation for the mediation process, our office will request written submissions from all the parties involved in advance of a mediation meeting.
The mediation process itself generally takes place on neutral territory. Each party will be given its own office and our CEDR Mediator will work between each office making offers and counter offers. The aim is always to arrive at an agreed settlement within a single day, although occasionally the mediation process can run over a number of days.
For the mediation process to work, it is essential that our CEDR Mediator has no prior link to any of the parties involved in the dispute and is recognised as completely independent and impartial.
